How to integrate TOPdesk in automation workflow?

3 simple steps to make your TOPdesk connected with other apps in automation workflows on WEXTL. Up to 10 minutes integration set up.

How TOPdesk connects and integrates with WEXTL

Save and approve your credentials once — WEXTL® stores authorization information encrypted and reuses the authentication whenever TOPdesk app is called in workflows. That allows your support automations to run without your attention, per defined schedule [7]. Explore documentation [6] for a detailed list of fields that TOPdesk supports.

The following table illustrates what fields TOPdesk integration require during authorization flow inside our workflow builder [4].

FieldTypeHelp
Environment URLRequired
url

Your environment URL, e.g. https://yourcompany.topdesk.net

Operator login nameRequired
text

The login name of the operator the API calls run as. The operator needs a permission group with the REST API permission and the Use application passwords permission (API Access block), plus API permissions for the modules you use (incidents, assets, locations, persons, operators, supporting files). This connection uses operator login. Connections created earlier with a person login do not work any more and must be recreated.

Application passwordRequired
password

An application password, not the operator's normal TOPdesk password. In TOPdesk open the operator's user menu (your name, top right) -> Operator settings -> Application passwords, create a new application password and paste it here.

Connect TOPdesk to popular apps on WEXTL

Enter a name of the other app you want to sync with TOPdesk below. Click on selected app to explore integration options with TOPdesk. If the app you search for is not available in WEXTL yet, you can use HTTP node [10] instead to integrate it directly.

Example automation with TOPdesk integration

Select Watch Locations trigger from TOPdesk - this will be a starting point in your automation. Whenever event happens in TOPdesk, workflow will start [7] from Watch Locations node.

Search for Archive a Location, connect it as the next step of integration sequence. You can use filters between Watch Locations and Archive a Location, so only important data pass from Watch Locations to the next step. WEXTL gives you full control over the process of TOPdesk automation. All parts of workflow are visible on the canvas [4].

TOPdesk on WEXTL has 67 modules for crafting support automations. Explore TOPdesk documentation for more.
